#PetPeeve : People who say "I wish I had talent for #drawing !"

I mean, I too wish I was better at drawing. But ultimately, I made the active _choice_ to prioritize other things with the limited time I have.

Because in the vast majority of cases, getting good at a craft depends far more on the effort you put into practicing, rather than some inborn trait. Ignoring that is dismissive of the many great artists who worked hard to get where they are.

(This doesn't mean that people can't have different circumstances, of course - someone who has to constantly hustle in order to get by will have far less time to practice a craft than someone who was born to a life of leisure. So I am not condemning people who don't have the time to practice. But it's the time investment what matters the most, not some genetic traits.)

Ich finde, Klarheit in der Kommunikation ist eigentlich eine schöne Sache, die wir mal versuchen könnten.

Nothing I do on my phone now is significantly different than what I did with it when it was brand new five years ago. If it is slower now, it’s because the latest software has become bloated and less efficient. The phone manufacturers and their media mouthpieces can shut the hell up about my continued use of a perfectly functional device. #rant #PetPeeve #PlannedObsolescence

The number of people who really don't (and probably don't want to) understand modern normal lift controls is mindboggling to me.

The lifts here are advanced in the sense that if you called one for going up, and someone enters with you and manages to press a downwards floor first, it still goes up. It also clearly shows on the outside that it wants to go up, like you ordered it to.

It's great, but it seems to be too complex for most people.
