@snikket_im this is probably wayyyy down the list of priorities, but it'd be cool if somehow Snikket were the first XMPP app to properly support #webxdc over an encrypted channel.
I'm currently using Monocles on Android which has rudimentary support but it's broken in a lot of ways.

Quite a few of #deltachat #chatmail and #webxdc folks are already and will be around #39c3 -- on-site you can join a group chat (or send us a DM upfront) where we announce dynamically scheduled sessions. You'll find us mostly around Komona but also other places ... for more info:

On the occasion of SimpleX and Session getting cryptocoin-donations/funding ... we won't hide that most delta contributors are pretty skeptical of cryptocoin-circles. Exhibit 1: #Webxdc apps - mini apps that anyone can whip up -- and the declared motto still on the https://webxdc.org web page since inception mid 2022:

and this year, January 23rd, we added "no billionaires" to the growing list of things deserving a "no" 😊

🤔 Looking at PixelSocial, an app inside DeltaChat and how it does seem to have access to internet I'm starting to wonder if the protocol for Fedigrindr doesn't even need to be invented, it's @delta itself.
I'm just trying to understand how PixelSocial works. According to what I read on Webxdc (the protocol deltachat apps use) things can only communicate with things who at most are in the same group.
But my understanding is that PixelSocial is using a bot to bypass the group and host the messages. I need to find PixelSocial creator.

One reason I started to use #DeltaChat was because it is based on e-mail.
Some seem to like e-mail so much, that they build an email-composer-webxdc app in the #ArcaneChat app. This e-mail to the power of 2.
@devSJR notice that the email composer #webxdc is meant to be used (and only work properly) inside #ArcaneChat, not #DeltaChat
There is plenty going *wrong* in the world right now. And I feel like I hear about all of it, all the time.
If I may ask; if you're involved in Linux or FOSS communities, what do you see going *right* lately? What things are giving you optimism? Are there any new developments worth following that would encourage people?

By design, end-to-end-encrypting #deltachat and #webxdc apps only need ephemeral transport. It's a big deal. Let's compare:
- #matrix home servers maintain a cryptographic forever-chain of cleartext social-graph metadata.
- #WhatsApp servers maintain cleartext metadata visible to Meta.
- #Signal keeps encrypted metadata, hosted at GAFAM
#chatmail relays do not persist any social graph state, also not in encrypted form. A key goal of our designs: chatmail operators can sleep well at night :)

We do not aim for #deltachat to be another social media app. No #ai summaries or suggestions. No public directory of contacts. No discovery via outside identifiers (mobile phone or email). Just you and your contacts privately messaging, in a solid simple user interface on all platforms. End-to-End encryption enforced on two layers. #chatmail relays know and retain nothing, no content or metadata. #webxdc apps allow for custom interactions on top of chats.

Today, we were nicely surprised by a new comprehensive (italian) #deltachat introduction video, going through initial setup, groups and chatting, setup of second device, using #webxdc apps, bots, calls and playing Quake -- all the nice things you can do these days :)
