This is not just about #redistribution within nations. #Piketty stresses the need for new class solidarities that cut across borders. Convincing working and middle classes in rich countries that the #elite will finally be held accountable can also help support people in the #GlobalSouth who are already suffering the worst #climate damages.

The gap between rich and poor #CarbonFootprints is now wider than at any time since the nineteenth century.
