Several national #Republicans shared statements of support for #ICE after the #shooting. “Attacks on our law enforcement cannot be tolerated,” said [ #JanSixer] Rep #BarryLoudermilk of #Georgia.

Rep #AndyOgles of #Tennessee wrote that “if you put an ICE agent in mortal danger, self-defense is JUSTIFIED.”

Local & state officials [& anyone with eyeballs] have disputed federal accounts of the shooting & whether the agents were in any danger.

I'm working on a new project to make it easier to follow the #Georgia state legislature.

Besides a website and RSS feeds, I'm thinking of mastodon account that posts legislative action.

I'm curious if it'd be worth it to make individual accounts for votes by each member. Partly that seems like overkill. But part of me thinks it be easier to just follow, say, your reps.

I'm interested in thoughts, and boosts appreciate

I set out to answer a question I hoped would resonate with anyone who’s ever struggled to get the health care they need. Why are people in Albany — and, for that matter, the city of Albany itself — so sick when its most powerful institution is a hospital?

I started by speaking to dozens of people whose loved ones had died at Phoebe during COVID-19. It didn’t surprise me to learn that not all the miracles posted on Phoebe’s Facebook page were true. Maude Burke’s relatives told me she hadn’t fully recovered from COVID-19. She’d been readmitted to the hospital a couple days after she was discharged and died shortly thereafter. Nor did it surprise me that relatives like hers were bitter about their loss and that some blamed Phoebe for mishandling their loved ones’ cases.
