By the way, #BikeTooter / #bikeTO, here is my noodle!
It sticks out 1 metre (the minimum passing distance cars must give according to the Highway Traffic Act). It's mounted to the rear rack and basket with zip ties and noodle tube sections (sold for attaching pool noodles together). The basket provides extra support as well as a handy way to stow the noodle away when not needed. There is a piece of foam-covered wire (from the gardening section of the hardware store) inside the pool noodle so it can be reshaped when taking it in and out of the basket.
Highly recommend trying it at least once!

View from above with noodle deployed. Soft and floppy enough to easily bend and not scratch cars, it nevertheless provides a visible and tangible obstacle that drivers instinctively steer clear of.
The free half of the pool noodle can easily be tucked into the basket.

@ascentale @bikenite A8. I was in Toronto yesterday without my bike, but I got a few fun cycling-related photos. The one on the left shows a cycling rack as cycling art in Kensington. The photo at top right shows bike racks at a community school filled with baby strollers. And the one at bottom right shows Harbord Street being rebuilt with cycling infrastructure.
A portion of a newly paved street recedes into the distance. It’s still under construction, but the concrete barriers for separated bike lanes can be seen. In the distance, paving equipment can be seen.
A blue cycle rack that has a few bikes in it. More prominently, there are several baby strollers locked to it. Behind the racks there’s brick wall with two windows visible.
A bike rack that’s also and sculpture that spells out “Kensington” with what appears to be a giant bike chain and gears. The rack has plenty of room for bikes. On the wall behind the rack there a wall with a colourful mural that features several faces.

I was cycling to work this morning, stopped at a red light, noticed a dark thing flying, almost got sucked into the engine of a massive truck. But then seconds later it fluttered towards me and landed on my knee... Look at this gorgeous thing!
I don't know much about butterflies, so I looked up this one and it's a male Eastern-tailed Blue Butterfly, a common butterfly species across North America.
