Immich importeerde z'n eigen thumbnails als foto's. En maakte daar weer thumbnails van. Groundhog Day, maar dan met 437.000 bestanden.

@_elena @shollyethan @ilja @yunohost Thanks for the tip off, this is a great way for us non-techie #selfhosted folk to get around the complications of proxy/webserver configs.

I'm having some quite odd issues trying to get apps ( #jellyfin #immich #nextcloud) to work with mounted NFS shares though (they can 'see' the files and folders but can't actually access them.

Once that's fixed I'll have another go at getting gmediarender and spotifyd working properly too!

Got #Immich installed with a solid 3-2-1 backup plan.

What’s insane is pulling down my entire Apple Photo library. This is a real commitment!

I think #Immich is my next #homelab install. Leaving my photos in Apple iCloud is certainly easy...

But I'm starting to get a nervous that I have no backup of that content.

Might have to look into more storage.

I've been really enjoying working with a VPS I set up through Hetzner.

My self-hosting journey so far has been:
* Pikapods
* VPS through Hetzner, so far for personal website and a few lighter services (FreshRSS)

Immich (for photos) is still on Pikapods.

I'm thinking about using an old Mac Mini I have lying around unused as a home server, and moving Immich and most other services there, keeping the website via VPS.

Has anyone repurposed a Mac Mini as a home server? This is new territory for me. I'd happily hear any advice/considerations.

People with self-hosted photo storage: I'm considering moving from #Photoprism to #Immich. Any experiences with that (or with either of these)?

For context: I know that you can run both in parallel, but that feels like more bother than it’s worth, and getting trivial non-hacky upload in itself is enough reason to move (and that's without mentioning that Immich just seems on a much better trajectory as a project).

Addendum: experiences with using internal vs external libraries with Immich?

I love the memory feature in #Immich. On some days it shows some precious memories that otherwise would go unnoticed.

This is 2 years ago, when I 3d printed a case for my Radxa Rock 4B board. It is still running in that case.

Although I'm a big #Nextcloud fan, the frequent issues around the auto-upload feature of the NC-#Android app drive me into looking for an alternative for the auto-Backup of my mobile photos. What's a sensible #selfhosted solution? #Syncthing ? #Immich ? Something else. Ideally, I'd like to mount that storage as read-only in Nextcloud.
