If you're taking the pledge to not shop at major corporations that are on Santa's naughty list, be aware it's easy to accidentally buy from them if you buy things on eBay or other marketplaces.
It's common for people to list Amazon products on eBay under their own store. When you buy it, they simply use their Prime account to drop ship the item to your door with fast Prime delivery. If you've ever made a purchase on eBay and were surprised to see an Amazon delivery van pull up, you were actually buying from Amazon and paying some rando to borrow their Amazon Prime account.
#eBay support is now #AIhell and it is yet another reason for me not to want to buy there.
Their #LLM is useless. Only good for people who can't (or can't be bothered to) navigate the site or use the spoon fed options. It doesn't cater for anything that isn't already easy to find, and hides the actual option I want.
It's like hunt the wumpus or 'Adventure' where you have to navigate a maze until eventually you stumble on the treasure you seek.

TIL that the reason why several different Japanese sellers on eBay often have identical listings of the same object is because they're copying auctions off of Yahoo Japan. They obviously don't have the item in hand and will try to get it after you buy it from them, so you might not get what you were expecting and it might take a very long time.

A PSA about the #ebay seller "digistoremarket" they purport to sell #vintage #software like #os2 and such, but they just send you a CDR with pirated floppy images.
The listing does not make this clear at all, I ended up getting a full refund from ebay, so they handled it well, but the seller is still on the site selling the same scam software.

💾 Vintage Obsession 💾
I've been in love with this one for months, years, decades. Perhaps one day, when the moons align, I'll grab four Pentium Pro "Black Edition" CPUs and as much RAM as its mezzanine cards can handle, and ... well, you know how the rest of the vintage hardware story goes. Beautiful. The only concern is, "wtf is it doing on the EMI static-charged carpet for the photos?"
