A while ago I filmed & wrote a tutorial on turning your photographs into art. Discussing overpainting techniques and best practices of combining painted art with photos. It was made for CSP, but the techniques are applicable to any art program!

#FlashbackThursday Short rows are a very handy way to create shaping in knitted fabric. I like German short rows, because they’re invisible in the resulting fabric, and very easy to work 😃

Why “caffè” may not be “caffè”
Every time I think I finally understand Unicode, it surprises me again. This time, it was a file full of coffee orders that wouldn’t grep for “caffè” - even though the word was clearly there. The culprit? Unicode normalization. Characters like “è” can be stored in multiple ways, and unless they’re normalized, tools might see them as different. I think that @laura did an excellent job with her @penpot course! Her lessons are short and straight to the point. She starts from the very basics so that anyone, even with zero knowledge about penpot or similar tools, can jump in and start learning. That's probably one of the best moves the #Penpot team could do now: provide an onboarding tutorial to welcome newcomers! Can't wait for the rest of the course to be published! Check it out!

The Bard and The Shell
A lot of introductions to using a shell — whether it’s Linux, one of the BSDs, the Mac (or even Windows using WSL!) — show examples that are a bit on the light side (looking at you, cowsay ?
