Day 3 - Sassafras to Nowra

'Age has wearied him, and the years condemned.'

Although another cracker of a day for riding, especially as it was mostly downhill, the knees are packing it in so I'll be catching the train from here to Newcastle. Booked in for a sports physio on Thu to do a 'bike fitting' as I am 99% confident the new seat was not installed in *exactly the same place as the previous. Hence .... angry tendons.

Am also confident I can pull volunteer shifts at Rising Tide (from Thu arvo, after the physio) doing 'stuff' ..... while not out paddling a kayak, taunting the constabulary.

Nowra is a lovely, sleepy town. And the campsite is awesome. $25 a night (that's Aussie dollars, not real ones) and full of laid back residents. Shoalhaven Caravan Park.

Day Two - Tarago to Sassafras. (The purple leg in the map below).

A beautiful cycling day. Pleasantly cool with light drizzle. Rather large hills though, and I suspect I have triggered some tendonitis in the knees.

Overnight was a lovely, remote campsite 4km off the main road. With no car noise and no mobile reception. Bliss!

Got a flat tyre while passing some road works. It's handy to have a bicycle workshop at the office.

Mit dem Velo zur Arbeit & ein Bad im See. Luft 7°C, Wasser ~9°C.
Holte mir einen Platten, als ich an einer Baustelle vorbei fuhr. Praktisch, dass man eine Velowerkstatt im Geschäft hat.

First swim after 3 weeks in tropical climate was more pleasant than expected. The sky celebrated as well.
