🪞 Random mirror selfie, in an abandoned palace somewhere in Portugal. This huge, gorgeous foxed mirror must have seen some sights over the decades. Nowadays it decays, mostly forgotten, as the world moves on outside this forgotten space.
On this day, it had to put up with me posing and snapping!

Hotel Sakartvelo. One of many abandoned resort buildings scattered across the spa town of Tskaltubo in western Georgia. Once part of a busy Soviet-era holiday industry, the hotel is now an empty shell of concrete and broken stairwells.
To capture this shot, I was perched (uneasily) on a matching staircase on the other side of this lobby. Needless to say, I was relieved to step back onto solid ground again!

✈️ 🚂 🚗 Planes, Trains and Automobiles (and a cable car!) 🚡
Old cars taken for one last drive and dumped in forests. Cable cars left in silent stations. Soviet-era planes, once gate guardians to old air bases, now just an out-of-place curiosity. Huge rusting steam trains languishing in old collapsing depots.

Kuroshio Inn. An abandoned hotel somewhere in Japan 🇯🇵
Kuroshio (黒潮 ) means “black tide”. This nickname relates to the current which flows along the southern coast of Japan. The water has a bluish-black appearance, owing to low amounts of plankton. This transparent and dark appearance earned the name “black tide”.

🆕 🚢 🇬🇧 New location feature: The Pearl of the Dane, England.
This abandoned floating restaurant is moored along a riverbank. This old Danish fishing boat was given a facelift to look like a 1920s-style paddle steamer!
It opened as an 80-seater restaurant serving exotic dishes. The novelty faded quickly, and it closed just 18 months later. It has sat #abandoned for 25 years.
