@9to5Mac I prefer the old screenshot tool, which allows you to immediately use the drawing tool. The AI screen is always in the way and absolutely useless to me - a major irritation I cannot get used to, just like the rest of iOS26.

Heute (2026) habe ich meine #WordPress-Website aktualisiert. Mit einem iPhone. Also mit dem Finger. PHP hochgezogen auf Version 8.4.15, Copyright-Jahreszahl im Footer angepasst. Kein Piepen, kein Jumper umstecken, kein leises Gebet an die Götter der AUTOEXEC.BAT. Einfach streichen & tippen, speichern. Fertig.

Früher bedeutete ein Versionssprung neue Disketten, neue Probleme. Heute bedeutet er: Aufwachen, Erinnerung lesen und „Ach ja, das sollte man mal machen.“ Und während früher ein Rechner den Schreibtisch füllte, reicht heute ein kleines Glasdisplay (im Bett), das kleiner ist als mein damaliges Handbuch zu MS-DOS.

Fortschritt fühlt sich manchmal an wie Magie. Und manchmal einfach nur wie ein leicht surrealer Moment, in dem man merkt: Man ist älter geworden – aber die Technologie ist schneller besser geworden.

@9to5Mac Since upgrading the #iPhone 17 Pro Max, I don't even bother charging it over night. Usually go to bed around 10 PM with 32 to 42% sometimes even 50%. I usually charge it up in the morning while I showering, making breakfast and getting ready for work. By then, its charged to 80% which more than last me throughout the day. If I use up battery during the day, its because I don't have much work, which rare.

Apple’s design team has completely lost it!

I removed the PreviewApp, but PDF Expert by Readdle hijacks all PDFs when opened, instead of using the FilesApp, as you suggested.

I’m also wary of PDF Expert due to its AI features I did not ask for, as well as the connections it makes to Facebook and other invasive trackers, every time you open the App.
