We're now providing #Incus users with a public OIDC provider, backed by our community forum!
This makes it a lot more convenient to get started with IncusOS without having to learn how to handle TLS client certificates, just hit the web UI and login!

#FreeSoftware versions of Vagrant is no longer maintained. Vagrant was one of the methods we suggested when people are learning #debian #packaging. I liked the way of sharing a Vagrantfile when doing a workshop for many people.
As I was preparing for another packaging workshop for #MiniDebConf at Navi Mumbai, I gave Incant a try. It is a replacement for Vagrantfile like declaration of machines and uses #Incus as its backend.

PSA, the @fedora #Incus and LXC images are about to disappear from our image servers. This is because it's been 10 days since we last were able to build them. Looking into it, now it appears that Fedora has deployed Anubis on kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org which is the site we're using to download the OCI artifacts acting as the base image.
I've reached out now to the Koji folks to try and get either another location we can pull those from, or some kind of exception, but this may still lead to a few days without Fedora images available.

I wrote a blog post about running #coreos in #incus in my #homelab.
bout image import, using ignition and persitent data management.

IncusOS comes with all the missing things like ARM64 (aarch64) support, boot safety, full disk encryption, immutable images (read-only and signed) and fully locked down to operate in API only mode.
For me, it’s a mix of #Talos, #Harvester and Proxmox where it merges the best features of all ones!

Very excited to announce the general availability of #IncusOS today, an immutable OS image specifically designed to run #Incus!

We at @credativde@mastodon.social are launching our very first & free open-source virtualization gathering in Germany, Mönchengladbach.
This new community event brings together everyone who’s passionate about open virtualization technologies, whether it’s Proxmox VE, XCP-ng, bhyve, Harvester, or any of the countless projects that make open infrastructure thrive. It’s about sharing experiences, learning from each other, and connecting with those who build and rely on open platforms every day.
We start the evening with two talks:
* "Enterprise-Ready? How people use Proxmox VE & Ceph" by Ronald Otto from Tuxis B.V.
* "BoxyBSD – Creating a free VPS hosting platform" by Florian Paul Azim Hoberg from credativ GmbH
Afterwards, the space opens up for discussion, networking, and casual chats. If you like to join with a talk, please feel free to reach out to me.

Any of you sharing GPU's without SRIOV?
I have been "abusing" my host OS to run gpu demanding work.
Notably, steam with gamescope so servers aren't single use.
They can server as multi-media centers, but also as couch gaming stations, nas, etc.
Basically trying to push the envelope of HCI (Hyper Converged Infra).
All of this because GPU vendor are greedy and don't want to have SRIOV on consumer grade hardware.
