Questo è il risultato di una politica lungimirante e portata avanti nel tempo, basata sui dati.
I fattori più importanti sono quelli che conosciamo: limiti di #velocità bassi, fatti rispettare, progettazione degli spazi per favorire spostamenti a piedi e in bici, #trasportoPubblico eccellente per limitare gli spostamenti con l' #auto, principale fattore di collisioni mortali.

Cosa diranno quelle persone che per cui i morti in strada sono "male necessario"? Quale scusa abbiamo ancora per giustificare migliaia di morti improvvise evitabili? Il presunto risparmio di tempo? L'inutile, e sempre più insignificante, industria automotive?

I'm a Japanese living in Seattle, WA, married with a 5-year-old daughter. I write commercial database software for a living. Ironically, GNU/Linux is my primary and favourite operating system. My personal laptop is a Chromebook.

I'm a big pedestrian/bicycle safety activist. I volunteer for a local advocacy group, Seattle Neighborhood Greenways, to advocate for safe streets for everyone based on the #VisionZero principle.

Nur mal so:
Am Eisbach kommt es zu einem tödlichen Surfunfall.
Stadt sucht 2 Wochen nach Problemen in der Infrastruktur, sperrt die Welle für 2 Monate und passt die Regeln an (nur noch selbstlösende Leinen.)

Warum nicht auch:
Fahrradfahrerin wird an einer Kreuzung totgefahren.
Stadt analysiert inwieweit die Infrastruktur an der Stelle verbessert werden kann und sperrt, die Kreuzung bis das Ergebnis vorliegt.
Nötige Änderungen werden so schnell wie möglich umgesetzt.
