Here lies a nearly-complete archive of Whole Earth publications, a series of journals and magazines descended from the Whole Earth Catalog, published by Stewart Brand and the POINT Foundation between 1968 and 2002. They are made available here for scholarship, education, and research purposes.
I wonder how much #HamRadio there was in these. I just spot checked a couple…found pirate, shortwave, and plain old but not #AmateurRadio
Ok, so I've got a crap old mini desktop PC that still runs ok. (core2, 2Gb ram)
Best use case I can think of for it, is to load it up with a lightweight Linux distro & run it solely as an SDR.
Anyone have any suggestions as to what distro(s) I should have a play with?
(Reasonably experienced *nix user)
Although I’d thought about applying for a new vanity call sign before, I’d always dismissed the idea as frivolous.
But lately I’ve been embracing some new things and decided it was time for a change. I didn’t want to go completely unhinged so I set some guidelines and (mostly) stuck to them.

Managed to get a Commodore 64 AEA User port to TNC cable.
* Trying to find the manual or details
* Looking for an image of the original PackRatt Software for the Commodore 64 if possible?
Anyone in the Fediverse able to help? 😊 Thanks!

I forgot to post last weekend’s project. I made a nicer common mode choke. The one I had worked but was not tidy. This one is in a box and has fixed connectors. Very happy with how that came out. That’s RG-316 coax. #HamRadio # AmateurRadio.
Is there any particular reason for using RG316 instead of RG174 as the losses in the short length used will be very small, and the breakdown voltage (at least with 100W) shouldn't be a problem?
I found an extra copy of this book laying around while cleaning, if anyone in the U.S. would like it, I'm happy to ship it to you for free (basic USPS shipping)
the only two things I ask:
you actually use it to study for your Tech Exam, AND, please pass it along to someone else for free
I've already asked in some smaller circles, but most people already have their licenses, heh
first come, first serve
EDIT: The book has been claimed!
