Well this is annoying. With iPadOS 26.0l1, I simply cannot change icon locations. As soon as I press and hold and drag an icon, the icons start to wiggle but the screen is now unresponsive. I can stop it by holding the power button to restart Springboard (or restart), but it happens the next time I try to move an icon. Anybody else seen this?
Nope, no bugs to be seen here. None at all.
Fällt euch was auf?

I'm disappointed that slideover and split screen are gone in #iPadOS26. Windowing is not a substitute. I use my iPad like an iPad, not like a laptop.
The OSes : #maxOS26, #iOS26, #ipadOS26 and so on.
Without forgetting #iWork that I use everyday.
For years, iPad power users have wanted the tablet to serve as a laptop replacement. And with iPadOS 26, Apple has made the iPad's interface more like the Mac. Not everyone is going to be happy about this but you can revert to old-school, full-screen displays - but at a cost.

We’re nearing the release date for iOS and I’ve got to say iPadOS is going to annoy a lot of people.
The way apps slide off to the side but still show a bit on each edge is irritating. And seeing apps upon apps piled up, not taking up the full screen and yet too large to have other apps side by side seems pointless.
Finally, the resizing is super awkward. Maybe when all these apps release updated versions it’s going to be better. I hope.
The first public beta of iPadOS 26 is here, and it makes Apple's tablets feel more like desktop replacements than ever... although for best results you're going to want a newer model with an Apple M series processor. #Apple#iPadOS#iPadOS26#Multitaskinghttps://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2025/07/ipados-26-preview-the-rare-software-update-that-makes-most-old-hardware-feel-new/
Not a fan of the peekaboo apps that appear off screen on iPadOS after you switch away from them. They even show motion effects like video in the apps and content updating off screen.
It’s rare to get a ScreenCasts ONLINE-like video without being a member, but owner @leegarrett has created a couple of videos of his first impressions of iPad OS and macOS 26. Here’s a link to the one he did on iPad OS 26. It’s not a big whine piece like so many others; rather it’s “here’s what I think is cool and how it works”.
