Next week, Sonja Schimmler will Interdisciplinary speak about "Science in the Age of AI: Is Your Research Ready for the Digital Revolution?" in the interdisciplinary colloquium on Digitalisation of Research. Make sure to register for this free (hybrid) event at: https://www.ditrare.de/en/colloquium/registration?title=Science%20in%20the%20Age%20of%20AI:%20Is%20Your%20Research%20Ready%20for%20the%20Digital%20Revolution?&date=17.07.2025%2010:30%E2%80%9311:30

The Interdisciplinary Colloquium on Digitalisation of Research brings together researchers from various disciplines who are dealing with a broadly understood topic of digitalisation. The aim of the Colloquium is to discuss the impact of digital transformation of research on many levels: starting form a technical discussion on research methodologies, data management, continuing with networking and collaborative practices. An important aspect of the process is the societal impact.
The Colloquium takes place every first Thursday of the month (with rare exceptions) from 10:30 to 11:30 in a hybrid mode. Each session includes an expert presentation and discussion with the audience. We encourage you to join in person to contribute to a successful exchange. For those who are not able to join in person, there is an option of attending the Colloquium online via Zoom. Registration is required for both types of attendance.
Sonja Schimmler, Franuhofer FOKUS + Technische Universität Berlin;
Harald Sack, FIZ Karlsruhe - Leibniz Institute for Information Infrastructure + Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Institute of Applied Informatics and Formal Description Methods (AIFB);
Anna Jacyszyn, FIZ Karlsruhe - Leibniz Institute for Information Infrastructure;
Felix Bach, FIZ Karlsruhe - Leibniz Institute for Information Infrastructure

Research results are increasingly being shaped by digitalization processes. At the Leibniz ScienceCampus "Digital Transformation of Research", we are investigating the effects and potential of the increasing digitalization of scientific work in four interdisciplinary research clusters.

We are using an AI-generated background of interwoven networks forming a brain, using the colour purple as the key colour of the DiTraRe project.
