So the questions now (aside from the "how do I keep the battery from catching fire" 馃お )

1. How to convert this to a Class I e-bike
2. What battery technology to switch it to, and what is the hub capable of (with focus on SAFE battery tech -- I assume LiFePO4 is the right choice here now)
3. What e-bike controller would work best (vs. whatever is hacked into here now, which is "turns on when pedaled")

(The purpose of this foolish exercise, for me, is simply to learn about the technology... I am quite happy pedaling uphill with my normal bikes right now!)

Aha, found the scavenged treadmill motor. Now, to figure out how to mount this. I wonder if it's better to have the treadle belt over the flywheel (like a sewing machine, big diameter) instead of where the serpentine belt used to go.... probably will have to drill some belt holes to hold everything together to the wood top. #projects #humanpower

Update on the bed thermostat:

It mostly works really well, but today I've redesigned the sensor housing and placement so it can be away from wild swings in temperature (It could probably use a fabric sleeve to protect the wires.)

I might also need to finally learn how to print TPU, so I can extend the airflow further into the bed.

Most of the project is here: https://github.com/b73tt/bedcooler
