Seen on my street: three people, one in reflective vest, digging out a snowbank because a delivery van was parked half on the curb, leaving no room for a sedan that was trying to drive up the street. As I continued on, presently the sedan drove past me. I looked back down the street to see the shovellers hard at work because a large pickup truck, too big to fit through where the sedan had gone, was now also waiting to get through.
Snow storm aftermath in #toronto
I’m in Scarborough and my street is completely buried. Cars are buried, nobody can get it or out. We’re lucky that both of us work remotely but if we didn’t, it would be really hard to go anywhere today.
School boards declared it a snow day.
I have lived in Toronto for almost 16 years now and I have never seen this much snow.
Usually the plow comes by overnight after a snow storm and it hasn’t showed up yet

Well there we go, the (City of) Toronto has officially declared the current situation as a Major Snowstorm thingy and activated its MSERP. Will this cause people to not park on designated snow routes? Well, I don't know how to break this to the city, but if their cars are already parked, it's going to be hard to get them un-parked any time soon.
Looking out my window I can see some people out shoveling off their steps. I get the logic of doing it in the middle of Toronto's current major snowstorm, but at the same time my mind clearly doesn't work that way (because it thinks they're crazy, it's only going to get more snow).

sent one (1) email, time to go for a walk (and stock up on supplies in advance of the polar vortex)

Insert joke about snow event response plan just being someone by a phone ready to call the Army
@cargot_robbie I won't take down my last post but will admit it's sloppy out there.
Line 6 being down is our new storm beacon.
Speaking of storm beacons, amused and pleased that #dlws has made the migration over to this happier place.
I feel like this probably isn't the best day to bike to City Hall
Weather is officially yikes. Cold, windy, blowing snow, and salt shortage in full effect. Learn from my mistakes and stay home, it isn't worth it.

Just went grocery shopping and looking forward to staying inside the rest of the day #dlws
I must unfortunately leave the house #dlws
edit: okay I'm staying in and Making Do With What I Have
The sky is very pretty right now. #dlws
I am beginning to begrudgingly admit to myself that this isn't the ideal weather for cycling
It's a good afternoon for a nap. #dlws
need to go grocery shopping but it's raining 😞 #dlws
