" #Antisemitic voices are “no longer on the fringes” of #American culture that #students are exposed to, said panelist Daniel Joslyn-Siemiatkoski at a session discussing a new #book, #Judeophobia and the New Testament: Texts and Contexts (Eerdmans, out now), in which 35 #authors devote chapters to each of the 27 #books of the New Testament plus four extra-canonical texts.

“It’s designed for #teaching, to unpack some of the assumptions about #antisemitism and the locations of students in these issues,” says Joslyn-Siemiatkoski, director of the Center for Christian- #Jewish Learning at Boston College. His own book, Resisting Anti- #Judaism: Practices of Christian Solidarity will be released by Fortress in October 2026.

“These issues are not hypothetical, says Eric Vanden Eykel, associate professor of #religion at Ferrum College and one of three editors of Judeophobia and the New Testament."

Moving forward, working with publishers for my fiction and such, I will never tell publishers not to publish my books anywhere. Amazon, for instance. That would frankly be making sure nobody can find me or stumble upon my work. I'll share the other links and maybe not even mention you can find me on Amazon, etc. I just won't willingly tell my publisher to limit my publication channels. My audiobooks appear as an open podcast, Libro FM, and, well, you can get my books in your library. That will probably be the most I'll promote is the library, but at this stage, I need an audience more than anything else. Lastly, I am under no misguidance that me actually pulling my book from Amazon, etc. Will stop Amazon. It will just prevent readers from reading me.

I will promote libraries and indie bookstores over, well, everything else, though.

Anthropic has agreed to pay a minimum of $1.5 billion to settle the lawsuit brought by a group of authors who sued the AI company for illegally using pirated copies of their books to train large-language models. This covers 500,000 works, but judge William Alsup says if the list exceeds that number, Anthropic must pay an addition $3,000 per work. This is the largest settlement in U.S. history. John Grisham, George R.R. Martin and Jodi Picoult are part of a group of nearly 20 bestselling authors who have sued OpenAI, alleging “systematic theft on a mass scale,” and this ruling could indicate the likely outcome of that case.
