Some guy named Luigi is back in court today in NYC.
Topic of the hearing is the admissibility of illegally obtained "evidence" during the textual stop at a Pennsylvania McDonald's.
Mangione's lawyers continue to demand that the police actually produce the witnesses who ID'd Luigi.
They also point out how scared these cops are of Luigi looking normal in court. He's so shackled he can't even take notes at trial! 🙃

Some updates from court. In Luigi's PA Mc'Ds arrest paperwork the cops who arrested him plainly state that they searched all of his belongings in the actual paperwork to request a search warrant to go through his belonging's.
Which needless to say is not how warrants are supposed to work.

Now if this weren't all bad enough and dear readers I could understand a few sweet summer children thinking:
"maybe it was JUST one bad apple, its been a few years maybe they got better"
And if that's you, might wanna sit down for this one but here's a story hot off the Altoona presses showing that NO. These local cops have no fucking clue what the constitution is at all.
Detwiler is alleged to have been present, I can't confirm due to cop secrecy.
Much like that older Altoona case, this most recent one parallels Luigi's case on the issues of when a person must ID themselves to cops.
In this case the cops were called bc of neighbors arguing(their neighbors karened out and called the cops).
The cops say they showed up "to hear both sides" and some how ended up illegally entering an apartment and beating+arresting a man who was not even involved in the initial report.

Some how he took it upon himself to select a random person outside near the building to investigate and instigated a foot chase for no known reason at all.
Even his police report from the day recounts that he selected this person NOT bc of the noise at all.
He never even made contact with the building he was initially called to for the noise complaint.
In that similar PA case Detwiler eventually chased and subdued a random bystander and recovered a firearm and drugs.
The problem is that Detective Detwiler was called for a noise complaint, had NO description of the person at all and had no reason to be suspicious of this person other than the fact they were existing in a "high crime area"
All of this evidence was thrown out and Pennsylvania courts had to explain to Detwiler exactly where he fucked up.

Luigi later explained that he was homeless and simply provided what ID he had, which was fake.
Why the interaction didn't end with Luigi simply being allowed to leave McD's (possibly minus a fake ID) legal experts aren't sure.
That is until we read about the Supreme Court case Detwiler lost...

One thing that is really impressive about Luigi Mangione's legal team is that they are actively making the legal process as accessible for the average person to follow as possible.
All of the documents they can publicly release are posted on the website below so you can read pretty much the entire case for yourself.
Love Luigi or hate him this is an important resource to understand how courts and cops operate in practice.

A person who was arrested by ICE/CBP was found dead. Authorities say its suicide... but the details revealed in the autopsy clearly do not sound like self harm.

For ICE there are likely hotlines for your region and its probably the most important type of cop watch rn. I sadly know the most about the PNW so hopefully someone from your area or city can recommend local orgs.
Typically you want to get any photos of ICE you can, license plates+types & color of vehicles, number of ice agents, types of uniforms etc are extremely important and a name for the person abducted if you're able.
