I almost never shoot in black and white but I wanted to try something a little different and this film stock is STUNNING. Once I saw the reflections in the water, I thought I would focus on some abstraction.

When I photographed this red-footed falcon, I was simply thrilled to have it so close. Only later, while looking at the image, did I realize what it was holding in its beak, a lizard.

A reminder that every moment in nature tells a story. Sometimes, that story hits harder than expected.


Of course, I know that the falcon has to eat. But witnessing this moment even unintentionally touched me.
