Boosts appreciated on this post for better reach. Does anyone have any good ideas on explaining #Dementia to children, around 7-10 years? Also any good kids' books on the subject/resources to help them understand it? Thanks.

Researchers found one of the factors that contribute to dementia is hearing loss and the overwhelmingly distressing feelings that accompany it.
Frustration and anger from trying to communicate with a world that is not interested in making an effort to accommodate hearing impaired; depression from the severe isolation when one can no longer effectively communicate with friends, loved ones, caregivers, and strangers;
depression also from losing the ability to hear what may have brought joy into one's life like music, the sound of a loved one's voice, sounds of nature (birds etc) ....
Imagine having to deal with the prospect of spending ones last years, at a time when we are vulnerable and most need assistance, in a world of confusing muffled sounds and voices, and feeling exhausted by the endless miscommunications --- I say those are good reasons to feel cranky.
This is one of the reasons why high tech hearing aids -Not the cheaper ones that simply amplify sound- are vital to the brain and mental health of seniors experiencing hearing loss.
Check with a doctor who specializes in geriatrics, they will agree.

“The retrospective cohort study included more than 130,000 people in the US. It reveals that the shingles #vaccine (called Shingrix) and the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine (Arexyv) are associated with a reduced risk of dementia compared to the annual flu vaccine.”
‘…findings…suggest "that the AS01 adjuvant itself plays a direct role in lowering #dementia risk.”’
“[Those] who received both the Shingrix and the Arexyv vaccine showed a 37% reduction in risk.”

"Saying ‘both sides are the same,’ when one side is a lie and the other the truth, always promotes the lie and degrades the truth. Thus, attempts to create contexts in which both sides are essentially just opposite views of entirely equal value should always be understood as attempts to disguise a lie."

One former senior official called it “mind-boggling” that the Drug Enforcement Administration is “just getting orders saying, ‘This is what Stephen Miller wants and you’ve got to give it to us.’”
Trump did. Or was pushed to do so.
Both severely disordered.
On Pathocracy:
"...
According to Lobaczewski, the transition to pathocracy begins when a disordered individual emerges as a leader figure.
While some members of the ruling class are appalled by the brutality and irresponsibility of the leader and his acolytes, his disordered personality appeals to some psychologically normal individuals.
They find him charismatic. His impulsiveness is mistaken for decisiveness; his narcissism for confidence; his recklessness for fearlessness.
Soon other people with psychopathic traits emerge and attach themselves to the pathocracy, sensing the opportunity to gain power and influence.
At the same time, responsible and moral people gradually leave the government, either resigning or being ruthlessly ejected.
In an inevitable process, soon the entire government is filled with people with a pathological lack of empathy and conscience.
It has been infiltrated by members of the minority of people with personality disorders, who assume power over the majority of psychologically normal people.
