I avoid boosting toots with images without alt-text. I do sometimes reply with an alt-text and then boost, when I have the spoons and the toot seems important enough.
As somebody mentioned in replies to the quoted toot, the #Alt4you / #Alt4Me hashtags are there to help, too!

My attempt to make a tactile version of the guide linked upthread:
1. Find the seams. Take your can and remove the label. Feel for a line of raised metal going from end to end. This is the side seam. Then, feel for a bump where the lid attaches to the top and/or bottom of the can. This/these are the end seams. Some cans only have a top end seam, while others have both top and bottom.

@codinghorror hey if you're in a position where you can't write alt-text, you can always request help from humans who are willing to help by tagging and asking #Alt4Me.
Apologies if I'm missing the satire, I must be since you write alt-texts. But for anyone who might take this literally, I don't think mocking the culture that is inviting of everyone regardless of their challenges is helpful. Accessibility makes things better for everyone.
