Oh cool. We just tested and #WebRTC with #Jitsi works over #NAT64
I'd heard WebRTC can be problematic with #NAT64, and the fact that Jitsi has dropped the IPv6 AAAA records for meet.jit.si and closed some recent IPv6 bug reports as WONTFIX didn't give me a lot of confidence. 😟
However, jitsi worked fine just now with one user on mobile (IPv4-only) and another on NAT64.

À la racine du groupe, il y a une idée née d’ailleurs, celle de @joynewacc , palestinienne de gaza, et @aral , irlandais, sur son île. Sur Mastodon, défilaient les appels à l’aide venus de Gaza, comme des bouteilles à la mer dans un océan d’indifférence.
Les réseaux commerciaux bannissaient ces voix, ou les enterraient sous leurs algorithmes. Alors un autre chemin a été inventé : https://gaza-verified.org . Plutôt que de croire aveuglément, Aral et Joy ont choisi de vérifier humainement.

Une conversation vidéo sur #Signal ou #Jitsi, un visage, une voix, une rue derrière, avec Joy en tant qu'interprète, familière du dialecte et des lieux, et Aral faisant le lien de l'autre côté . Et quand la vérité apparaissait, iels ajoutaient une petite coche verte au profil. Rien d’automatique, juste la reconnaissance d’un être vivant.

Es erweckt sich der Eindruck, dass Microsoft krampfhaft versucht, Kunden loszuwerden.
Es gehören schon gehörige Scheuklappen und Sitzfleisch dazu, treuer Fan zu bleiben und das alles zu ignorieren.
Umso erstuanlicher, wenn in Bayern geplant wird, wieder 1 Mrd € dort anzulegen statt sich endlich davon zu lösen.

A while ago I came up with a hacked together script to launch ready to run #jitsi instances via #hetzner cloud, including pre-set credentials, recording functionally and automatic upload of the recording at the end. Last feature unfortunately never properly worked.
For once it wasn't reliable enough and for the other #zoom was too convenient, so I did not go further with it.
Last week, we launched our Digital Sovereignty Index. Yeah, marketingy name, but I think it's cool. We tracked the use of self-hosted digital workplace tools (from #Jitsi to #openproject ) and compared it between countries.
Now granted - lots of things you can't track that way, most of all the use of big tech solutions. Caveats mentioned on the site! But I still think the data is interesting and it has sparked quite some conversations, which is great!

Not sure if this is a stretch, but has anyone managed to get automated #captions (or CART) and shareable live #transcriptions working with the public #Jitsi Meet instance, even via a third-party app?
I'm not interested in self-hosting, and I'm open to paid solutions. I know that there are some services that offer a bot that you can invite into your meeting to transcribe, but the ones I've tried don't work with Jitsi (Iist in 🧵)
Il mio serverino VPS con jitsi aveva quattro/cinque IP russi connessi (netstat). Era già capitato, ma adesso ho deciso di stoppare il servizio.

La creazione dei meeting era permessa solo agli iscritti, e poi gli anonimi potevano aggregarsi: in teoria il server era chiuso, e i log non mostrano attività di cui non sono consapevole.
