My next #HardenedBSD infrastructure goal will be making the package builds fully automated, including the final sync. This will get us closer to supporting mirroring our package repos.
On Saturday, 31 Jan 2026, we are planning major maintenance of our development and build infrastructure: https://groups.google.com/a/hardenedbsd.org/g/users/c/9mC981rDbME/m/mL8lkfZPAAAJ
Downtime will likely be for the full day.

Gonna carve off a few hundred bucks to get three GL.inet Comet Pro KVMs for the #HardenedBSD development infrastructure. The iDRAC in these servers is ancient, don't even support TLSv1.2. So having a more modern option will help, especially after the boot loop issue this morning during a failed upgrade.
Next up for the #NextCloud deployment in the #HardenedBSD infrastructure: Backing up the VM storage to the NAS on a regular basis.
The VM's #OpenZFS zvol gets auto-snapshotted every 15 minutes, hour, day, week, month, and year.
I'm hoping to find something (suggestions welcome!) for something that can handle the zfs send part to the NAS but NOT handle the snapshotting itself.
Put another way: I want a tool I can use ONLY to run zfs send on an existing snapshot, sending it to a remote ssh host.
Or am I forced to use the same tool for both snapshotting and transfer?
Goodmorning lovely Fedi people

@dch from that issue, it's still unclear as to the exact cause of the package metadata issue. the symptoms and metadata issue was documented, but not the underlying cause of why the metadata was incorrect.
I'm mainly curious if downstreams from FreeBSD who provide their own package repos (like #HardenedBSD) might be impacted.
The fans in one of the #HardenedBSD build servers are going haywire.
It works ❤️

Dear fellow *BSD aficionado,
First and foremost: our sincere gratitude for your interest and intention to attend our conference. We love having such an amazing community and were looking forward to meeting you once again at the Late 25 edition of BSD-NL.
Unfortunately, we have to postpone this edition. We did not get enough ticket orders in to make it viable. Reflecting back, this was mainly our fault. We announced this edition way too late. Plus, there are other events at the same day, which is less than ideal. We will take these lessons to heart (and practice).
We will, most definitely, organise a new event somewhere in spring - the Early 26 edition. And we would like to see you there!
Sincere apologies. We will do better.
