Just heard that a member of our Quaker Meeting was arrested on terrorism charges this morning by Police Scotland. His offence holding a sign the Government don't like at a demonstration in Edinburgh on Saturday 6 September. They didn't do it at the time because they want to pick people off secretly to avoid publicity.

Sometimes I see people note that the Publick Universal Friend was disowned by #Quakers and wonder if it had to do with the genderlessness or other aspects of being PUF.
I can categorically say it did not.
I can say that because the disownment was two months BEFORE the illness that led to the Friend's rebirth as PUF.

Waking up to the first morning at Britain Yearly Meeting 2025 in Friends House, London, and this is my first bulletin. Almost 2000 quakers attending in body or online, so hoping the fully blended experiment works. The clerks have a job I wouldn’t want.
