So I finally moved my blog from #Hugo to #BSSG. Not because I had to, but because I wanted to try something different.
I'm still planning to learn how to do the frontmatter conversion in Python, but since patience is not my strong suit, I used Excel for this. Two days and many searches (via SearchXNG, mind you) later, the upload just finished. More details on the things I found out along the way will follow in a post later this week.
I guess those of you who have subscibed to my rss feed will receive updates even if there's no new content. Sorry for that.
Thanks to @stefano for this wonderful piece of software. Grazie mille.

When you start stealing ideas, it's hard to stop, so I wrote a post about how I styled my RSS feed with #XSLT.
Also, a couple of words on how I added XSLT support to #BSSG (it was extremely easy).

Some time ago I tried to build my own blog using amazing #BSSG It was surprisingly easy.
I did it mostly for educational purposes. I never blogged in English or wrote any lengthy texts. And I never used BSSG, so I wanted to test that out too.
But I had some thoughts about our current state of affairs, so I wrote my musings called "Digital Doomsday is coming and we should prepare for it".
It's just some thoughts about the world where there is no more Internet (or worse).
Let me know what do you think about it.

P.S. My blog is still under construction, I'm still figuring out some things.

Is #NecroComputing a thing? Blogging in 2025 using a 27-year laptop with Pentium II is actually possible.
Hail to #OpenBSD and #BSSG !

New blog post - Moving to a new static site generator
https://martin.hatstand.org.uk/2025/06/25/moving-to-a-new-static-site-generator/
New Blog, sort of...
Over the last few days I've been working with the excellent #bssg static site generator from @stefano to rebuild my personal blog.
The content remains the same, my random blurb, but I'm afraid I didn't think about page names until it was too late so the new blog is live and the page names have changed so anyone who subscribes by RSS is about to get a batch of new looking pages appear. Sorry about that.
One thing I have managed to get working is full page content in the rss feed (something I failed at with Hugo multiple times), something I now many of you (ok, just @neil ) was asking for so that will also likely cause a splurge of new articles to suddenly appear that you've probably already read. Sorry.
It looks like I have some cleanup work to do on a few pages but that shouldn't affect the main site content, I hope.

I am making a personal website to challenge myself and set out of my comfort zone. I am looking at using static site generators and have my list narrowed down to about four. There is a fifth, but that would just be fun fun. I am looking at performance, customization, mental foot print when making this. I want to post about my projects, that I will eventually make, on my site and blog. The projects side of the site will be the needed or not needed documentation.
