The Winter Olympics put me in the mood to participate in the legally distinct The Games: Winter Challenge.
I played this a lot in the past, especially the ski jumping event.
I never got past the ~95 meters, until now! With the Ninja Turtle character no less!

i'm making a #QBasic game using mode 13h, 320x200 8bpp. i'm using the line doubling feature of the VGA card to make it 320x100 then manually doubling each pixel horizontally for 160x100
i realized i could use a palette with 3 bits red/green and 2 blue, and then do "subpixel" dither to generate the in between colors. i made a converter to test if that would look good, and it does

i added a 0-1 scalar that biases colors towards non-dithered to make things less busy. here's factors 0, 0.25, 0.5, and 0.75 in order:

And now that I have a structured palette I know what bits are red, green, and blue, and so I can easily do cool effects using PUTs binary operations, OR, AND, and XOR

As a weekend project, I'm going to install a fourth Linux distro on my desktop PC to get some gaming going! Batocera is a Linux distro that supports over 220 gaming platforms and consoles, including MS-DOS, PS1-PS4, and various controllers directly.
I've built a couple of custom handheld consoles for retro gaming using RetroArch and EmulationStation, and we have an arcade machine with a JAMMA circuit board at the office, but I haven't tried Batocera before. Let the games begin!

I think issuing 20+ #AI generated PRs in a timespan of 24h can be considered the open source equivalent of a #DoS attack right? Sounds like a reason to ban without explanation?
