Beyond the Finish Line: Why France's 727 Series is the Soulful Adventure You've Been Searching For
Almost back home from #39c3. #bikepacking
"Our custom #bikes and gear reflect our dirt intentions and we #LeaveNoTrace to keep it all sustainable. Our #bikepacking #commons weaves us together and forms the grounds of this community. We all help maintain our commons first and foremost by riding."
Important piece by Josh Meissner about how #Komoot betrayed the commons and what the bikepacking community must learn from it.

I've seen a bunch of bike packing videos with people holding a bike tube up to their ear or using water, trying to find location of a leak. In Yvette Kooijman's latest video her partner used something entirely unexpected.

Just a small container with styrofoam beads above wire mesh and a clear plastic top.

Next iteration on my frame bag. This one is actually two bags that are connected by one wooden strip. Also I added an inner liner and a padded perimeter. It feels like this is quite at the threshold of what a domestic sewing machine can handle.
Next project is making some handlebar roll and attachment.

Follow-up #camping #gear question!
Thanks again for the help. After some reflection on previous solo-camping with toddler I realise a key thing to yr round happiness is a better sleeping pad.
The high R-value ones we have are bulky. So I'm considering a strong somewhat "lightweight/compact" duo pad*.
Combined with a <2kg tent (Hubba 2p) I'm ok transporting this.
Any ideas / experiences with this setup?

Six weeks ago, I bicycled down from Grimsel Pass in the Swiss alps. I got completely carried away by the magnificent views. Almost down from Grimsel Pass, I suddenly had a flat tyre. I attributed it to the fact that the rims of my Brompton had gotten to hot from me pushing the breaks too long. After changing the inner tube, I continued up to Furka Pass.
Yesterday, I had a detailed look at the broken inner tube; funnily enough, it was OK. Any thoughts?
