3 Handys, 3 LoRa Devices, 2 Raspberrys, 1 PC, 1 Notebook und natürlich der Rootserver in Nürnberg - diese Hardware habe ich gestern genutzt, um ein neues Reticulum Backbone, einen zuverlässigen Propagation Node und einen Collector zu erstellen und zu testen.
Bereits vorhandene (Test) Netze werden gebrückt, sodass kreuz und quer alles und jeder erreichbar ist.
Der Propagation Node ist, wenn er fest eingetragen ist, zuverlässig und Nachrichten, die in Abwesenheit gesendet wurden, können so auch schnell abgefragt werden.
Auf dem Collector Node können, für diejenigen, die es möchten, die eigenen Telemetriedaten gespeichert, und (automatisch) aktualisiert werden und können so auch von anderen Nutzen dort auch abgefragt werden.
Das Backbone kann mit folgenden Daten eingebunden werden:

The bulk of all traffic is concentrated around the area of #NoKings downtown.
The #mesh is certainly doing its job right now.
Community run, #decentralized, #encrypted, open-access #infrastructure at work.
Seeing an increase in #MeshCore traffic around the downtown #Boston area today. Glad to see folks out using it during #NoKings.
This is an example of community-run, #decentralized, off-the-grid #mesh networking #infrastructure playing an important role in society.
Folks are reporting that cell phones are essentially unusable due to the volume of people but MeshCore and Meshtastic are both functioning.
For context this is what the whole #Boston #MeshCore map looks like right now.

@pluralistic Cory, these are really great data points. There is an antecedent: municipal socialism in the 19th century in parts of Europe, including my native Emilia Romagna, in Italy. There it was not (always) coops, but City Halls building up substantial investments, including utilities (energy, water, waste...) and transit. Eventually some of those companies federated to serve millions of people.

I've been looking for some alternative tech and had heard about this Mesh stuff, so I'm going to need to dive in and educate myself.
So is there anyone out there who uses and knows about this Mesh stuff?

I've been busy as hell this past week.
A lot of people have been asking hard questions about the security of LoRa systems when they hear about mesh radios.
I'm not one to trust the marketing so I and several friends put together two new LoRa tools to help us audit the security claims of LoRa mesh systems!

Good news, there's an unreal amount of interest in meshcore lately.
My community came together and group purchased 20 nodes and have rapidly been onboaring tons of new LoRa curious hackers.
It looks like I might have single handedly increased the user base of the Seattle meshcore user base by 10 - 20%.
