[ #WikibaseCLI] The latest release, v19.3.0, improves support for claim reconciliation: this is typically useful to add a claim unless it already exists https://github.com/maxlath/wikibase-cli/blob/main/docs/write_operations.md#add-claim-unless-it-already-exists
#ClimateKG project is developing an Entity Relation Model to represent the syntactic structure of a scientific document in a knowledge graph.
We are reaching out to ask for recommendations of projects, literature, methods, etc.
The ClimateKG will hold #IPCC #AR6 corpus of 7 reports for browsing, republishing, enrichment.
Knowledge graph uses #Wikibase / #MediaWiki

#ClimateKG will be used for the #IPCC #AR6 corpus of 7 main reports of 10,000 pages. For corpus browsing, republishing, community enrichment. The constructed knowledge graph in Wikibase/MediaWiki allows browsing using the familiar #MediaWiki interface with #Wikidata enhancements like infoboxes, and #scholia like interfaces https://scholia.toolforge.org/ | Republishing is intended for sharing or reviewing search results on climate topics | Enrichment is for data scientists to make use of reports >>>
>>> the MediaWiki/Wikidata setup allows firewall setup where report text remains intact and its data #KG representation in #Wikibase can be worked on independently, where report text can also be retreived for analysis. @tibhannover Terminology service Antelope, and @orkg #Reborn are example that would carry out experiments in community enrichment

Next up at #MUDCon2025, Lukas Günther from @tibosl presents the work of the OSL team in configuring a flexible setup for our combined product #Wikibase4Research which wraps together #Wikibase, #SemanticMediaWiki, #SemanticWikibase, #SemanticKompakkt & more expensions useful to our research data management use cases, including our primary use cases in the context of @nfdi4culture

And on the topics of #cultureheritage data and #wikibase at #MUDCon2025, our @tibosl colleague Lucia Sohmen presents our work and ongoing challenges using formal data models for cultural data in our service #Wikibase4Research, part of the @nfdi4culture service portfolio.
Lucia presented ideas on our current workarounds, but also what we see as crucially missing in current status quo, opening up the floor to discussions about future development & what #ECHOLOT might be able to offer.

Wrapping up Day 2 of hashtag#MUDCon2025, Tom Arrow from Wikimedia Deutschland e. V. delivers the second keynote of the conference giving updates on latest state of Wikibase, Wikidata and federation devepments at WMDE (coinciding with the 13th Bday of hashtag#Wikidata, too!). Delving into the nitty gritty of federation complexity, Tom provides some examples of what he describes as ontology vs query federation. Pointing to some issues that were also mentioned in the earlier presentation by OSL's Lucia Sohmen (e.g. the need for data type support of concept URIs from external semantic resources), Tom showcases the feature development planning for "federated values" in the future.

The afternoon sessions of #MUDCon2025 are underway and we have one more contribution from the @tibosl team. This time Kolja Bailly presents (via pre-recorded video) on current work to integrate RAG (retrieval augmented generation) techniques to retrieve data in more intuitive ways from our Wikibase & SemanticWikibase projects, including concrete use cases. The work builds upon previous efforts from TIB colleague Alexander Gesinn and his integration of LlamaIndex for SemanticMediaWiki. It's early stages of work-in-progress, but we plan to release alpha version of the RAG extension for Wikibase4Research by end of 2025.

@lozross @tibosl @nfdi4culture very insightful presentation, which ends with a much needed reminder: #Wikibase is primarily built for #Wikidata. It was not designed as a linked data CRM… to me, the question of whether it can be meaningfully adapted to this use case is still an open one.

And we're officially announcing the #ECHOLOT project publicly for the first time at the #MUDCon2025 with @krabina from KMA, one of our partners in this new HORIZON Europe collaborative project. Bernhard provided some history and context to the project idea, and we outlined how we are reimagining the #MediaWiki software for the future of connected cultural heritage data together with a dozen other EU organisations. More details on the project will be published soon on the @tibhannover website.
In the meantime, stay tuned and follow along the MUDCon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjWzELDLmkc
#MUDCon2025 is continuing today with various use cases for #MediaWiki software incorporating semantics – from open government data projects (@krabina) to scientific data from electronic lab notebooks (Thomas Gruber – Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR)) and various interconnected humanities data (FlorianThiery – LEIZA), including a mention of @nfdi4culture & #SemanticKompakkt.
