* allarme che si attiva ogni giorno;
* allarme che si attiva solo i giorni feriali;

Many of us started using the #GeminiProtocol hash-tag once the #Gemini hash-tag got flooded with stuff about the Google Gemini LLM.
I like the Gemini Protocol, but — I think too many of the other small-net protocols try to mimick Gemini.
I think things would be better in some ways if — those so inclined to create a new small-net protocol would be more creative (rather than conforming to the patterns that the Gemini Protocol has used or established).
Sure, you can accept the small-net values, but — try something new, as far as designing a protocol goes.

But as I've already mentioned in other threads, the #GeminiProtocol approach IMO throws away the baby with the bathwater. Many of the web formats and technologies are actually extremely useful even for the “web of documents”: the problem isn't with #HTML, #CSS, #XML, #XSLT, #SVG or even #JavaScript, the problem is that browsers have been catering exclusively to the “web of apps” instead of the “web of documents”. We *can* keep that tech *and* the “web of documents”.

If anything, the biggest issue would be that, since the “web of documents” and the “web of apps” use the same protocol, switching from one to the other won't be “natural”.
In this sense, the #GeminiProtocol folks have arguably had the right idea: “we'll make our own web, with simple text and image formats”. This, to steal @witchescauldron's expression <https://kolektiva.social/@witchescauldron/115592900566471848>, pushes the “web of documents” away from the “web of apps”.

(I don't dislike gemtext. And I love the idea of a web built on lightweight markup. I would love it if user agents had native support for plain formats like markdown or asciidoc. I even like the #GeminiProtocol. And I see no reason why you shouldn't ship text/gemini over HTTP or HTML over Gemini.)
This, by the way, is part of the same rant. There is absolutely nothing preventing, say, #Firefox from adding support for the #GeminiProtocol and for the gemtext format. It would have been a better time investment for their engineers than the time they wasted adding integration with #LLM chatbots that people now have to waste their time disabling (or removing from the code).
