Seriously, imagine if mass swathes of Americans literally #DemExit out of the #DemocraticParty an entered the #GreenParty and built it into a real #workers party.

We would be an unstoppable force that literally brings reforms that would levitate the pains of Americans and still educate the public!

@urlyman There is already a left wing alternative to Labour that does not see Westminster politics ( or even electoral politics) as the only channel for change. The #GreenParty has always followed a twin track approach, and initiatives like people's assemblies as well as citizens' assemblies (a different aspect of building democratic legitimacy) form part of that vision.

On the one hand I admire those who think channeling left wing politics through Westminster is the only game worth playing.

On the other, I think it’s in danger of misconstruing where we are, where we’re going, and how much time we have to play that sort of game.

It took 18 years and a World War to go from the official founding of the Labour Party to its first spell in a minority government that could only last 9 months.

In 18 years it will be 2043 and… things will be *very* different…

If you're on mastodon.social, you might want to move your account to a different server:

The Fediverse is protected from takeover as long as we are spread out on many servers. If one server dominates, takeovers become easier.

Mastodon.social is currently 25.5% of the active Fediverse. This proportion is way too large and seems to be increasing.

Larger servers also tend to have worse moderation and are harder to defederate, threatening safety.

#FediTips #Fediverse

@FediTips in fairness this is what is one of the biggest networking challenges #Mastodon has against #bluesky is that you have to pick a server and people just want to sign up. The #GreenParty could use Mastodon today, but can't be bothered to do so, despite having the resources to do so. As they want to target where everyone is even if said platform goes against green party policies.
