As a weekend project, I'm going to install a fourth Linux distro on my desktop PC to get some gaming going! Batocera is a Linux distro that supports over 220 gaming platforms and consoles, including MS-DOS, PS1-PS4, and various controllers directly.

I've built a couple of custom handheld consoles for retro gaming using RetroArch and EmulationStation, and we have an arcade machine with a JAMMA circuit board at the office, but I haven't tried Batocera before. Let the games begin!

I actually don't use social media much. I'm kinda wary about how people can get addicted to it and how their viewpoint become distorted. Not to mention how the big social media companies take advantage that and people's privacy.

But sometimes I just want to talk to someone who has the same hobbies as I do and get why I'm so enthusiastic about it and talking to my friends isn't always the option.

I love being outdoors: camping, fishing, and long walks to reset my brain.

I like building things, setting systems up, and tweaking ideas that smarter people came up with first, but I’m equally happy just enjoying good design, good food, and good stories. Online, I try to avoid performative controversy. I post to start conversations, not win arguments. I like thoughtful interaction and hearing how different people see things. Expect curiosity, questions, and the occasional “what do you reckon?” post.
