People seem to be less and less confident speaking their beliefs #online.
Online, is not where our future battles will be won.

To paraphrase Lenin — the #power is in the #streets, waiting to be picked up by those who know how to use it. #Mamdani figured out how to pick it up in the streets.

In this vein, I exhort you all to help redirect the knowledge we generate online TO THE STREET.

If you have a favorite #blogger, ask them if they’ll begin making their work in an accessible, downloadable, #pamphlet form that can be distributed on the street.

If you are a blogger or #author of substance, please, help us help you. Open your work up to reproduction and on the ground distribution.

We need to educate and infuriate those outside our online bubbles.

Democratic Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani’s mayoral primary victory in New York City has prompted an elite panic, the likes of which we’ve rarely seen: Billionaires are desperately seeking a general-election candidate to stop him, former Barack Obama aides are publicly melting down, corporate moguls are threatening a capital strike, and CNBC has become a television forum for nervous breakdowns. Meanwhile, Democratic elites who’ve spent a decade punching left are suddenly trying to align themselves with and take credit for Mamdani’s brand (though not necessarily his agenda). On the surface, this freak-out can seem as if it’s about policy. Mamdani’s proposals for free buses, universal free child care, faster small-business licensing, higher taxes on the rich, some publicly owned grocery stores, a higher minimum wage, and rent freezes are indeed shocking to oligarchs conditioned to getting everything they want. When you’re so accustomed to privilege, the most minimally humane policies for others can seem like oppression — and Mamdani’s agenda probably feels that way to New York’s billionaires, CEOs, and neoliberals.

We like sharing it with people of lots of different backgrounds. That’s what makes us feel safe and happy here. Especially when they are such a mensch like him: a nice college boy, his parents are professors, he went to Bronx Science, and to a liberal arts school."

"Wolf [Glosser, Stephen Miller's 2-g-grandfather] arrived at Ellis Island on January 7, 1903. He peddled bananas in New York City and changed his name to Louis. 'One of the main things everybody wanted to do when they came to America was become Americanized,' recalled his grandson Izzy.

All their lives, the Glossers would strive to help the poor and persecuted."

As the odious Stephen Miller tries to convince heartland Americans that immigrants and diversity have made New York City the enemy, it's worth remembering that he descends directly from Jewish ancestors who fled persecution and poverty for that very city.

You guys, Mamdani was the only Democratic candidate running who categorically opposed mask bans

He was running against an establishment man with name recognition, huge amounts of funding & a history of abandoning the most vulnerable to die of covid

This feels like a huge win for vulnerable people
