RIP MicroSD usage on my phone. It was fun while it lasted.
My Fairphone has an issue where the SD card is often lost when switching between user accounts and the only way to get it back is to reboot: https://forum.fairphone.com/t/sd-card-and-2-user-accounts/93801?u=nicd
Today I finally just removed the card and moved everything to the phone's internal memory. Oh well. Now I have to figure out what to do with this 256 GB card.
Did anyone here on Fedi get themselves a Fairphone 6? Can anyone tell me about their experience with that phone?

Il nuovo #fairphone ha un sistema operativo proprio, staccato dalla dipendenza di #Google. Modulare, con manutenzione diretta e supporto per diversi anni. Mi chiedo quanto sia #marketing o un prodotto che guarda alla reale #privacy e distacco dalle #bigtech. @devol e @lealternative credete sia un prodotto capace di consentire un #degoogliser o è solo strategia di presentarsi leggermente più etico di altri? Davanti a queste cose mi pongo sempre il dubbio.

Ontgoogled, maar niet ontgoocheld. Mijn Fairphone Gen.6 met e/OS ingesteld. Mijn e-mail en contactenlijst van het privacy-vriendelijke Mailfence, mijn kalender en foto's gesynct met mijn NAS in de woonkamer. En alle andere apps werken gewoon zoals het hoort.
Kleine bug: de Google Authenticator kan niet aan de camera om QR codes te scannen, ook al geef je hem de rechten. Dus een andere authenticatie-app gebruiken.
Vanaf nu heb ik alleen nog maar Google nodig voor Youtube.

5/6 Ho aspettato moltissimo a rendere pubblica questa mia esperienza pessima, perché mi piace moltissimo l'obiettivo che si pone l'azienda #Fairphone e sono anche molto soddisfatto dal prodotto, a meno del guasto in particolare. Onestamente però, non posso consigliare più un prodotto simile, da un'azienda che si vanta di dare 5 anni di garanzia e di voler ridurre l'e-waste facendo durare gli apparecchi più a lungo possibile, ma non offre un servizio clienti adeguato, per dire un eufemismo. -->
2/6 A peggiorare le cose, è da poco stato pubblicato un aggiornamento ad Android 15 che rende inutilizzabili i modelli con il lettore d'impronte guasto. Il sistema verifica la presenza del dispositivo e nel caso non sia disponibile, si blocca al boot. L'unica soluzione, ma che non garantisce una risoluzione del problema, pare essere di resettare 7 volte il cellulare. Così facendo dovrebbe fare un rollback della versione precedente di Android. Purtroppo non funziona sempre. A peggiorare... -->
3/6 A peggiorare ulteriormente le cose, alcuni dei pochissimi utenti che hanno ricevuto una risposta dal supporto, si sono visti consigliare di aggiornare il sistema, cosa che li ha portati ad avere uno smartphone inutilizzabile. Di male in peggio. 1/6 I talloni d'Achille di Fairphone. C'è un motivo per cui non sto più consigliando di cambiare il proprio vecchio smartphone con un #fairphone il supporto dell'azienda è estremamente carente. Questo si è evidenziato specialmente a distanza di un anno dal lancio del FP5. Sadly #fairphone already issued some software updates, but apparently on both android and iOS you're regional provider (Vodafone nl in my case) must sign off on updates. Every update. So I'm still stuck on the factory shipped version.
I'm glad that #android ships modular software updates for things like the keyboard for example. I didn't buy my phone from my provider, they shouldn't control how I install system updates.
@WeAreFairphone good workarounds appreciated.
