A tiger striped brown and black tabby cat with long white whiskers which look like a well-curated moustache, seen from the side but with their head turned towards the camera, lying in an excellent loaf shape in the middle of a stone pavement, which leads to doors and corridors behind. Their eyes are closed and they have a calm, beatific, no-fucks-given expression on their face. They look wise and serene.

Despite being in Venice, the image feels very French to me, an embodiment of Left Bank intellectual hedonism and je ne sais quoi.

It takes a second to see which of the vertical objects is real and which are shadows, making the image feel a bit otherworldly.
