Sonne in #Heidelberg, Nebel in #Darmstadt.
Ok, credit where it's due
On my last Interrail trip I had two hefty delays - 122 mins Paris to Marktredwitz, and over 400 mins Hegyeshalom to Sighisoara
And Eurail BV (the company behind Interrail) has processed the delay compensation within 15 mins
Amazing 🎉
This looks more interesting that the Commission's high speed plan actually! #CrossBorderRail https://mendeddrum.org/@patrick/115496296421339921

Further impressions :
Second class is literally as comfortable as first class, that's an amazing to pgrade compared to the previous IC 1 carriages. The only difference is slightly more space, a cup holder and a foot rest. The seats both in first and in second class are very comfortable.
The offer in the bistro is *very* limited but maybe that's going to still change. There's just coffee, sweets and some crackers.
The bicycle area is much more flexible than in most other high-speed trains : There are both bicycle mounts as well as just broad space to just pile up the bicycles. That should make one or two bicycles more than planned much easier.
The train is level boarding in Germany but somehow DSB managed to order them at a platform height different than in Denmark. That's a bit weird.
At 200 kph, you feel a very constant, soft vibration. The ride is smoother than a TGV but less smooth than a railjet at the same speed.
In good old
manner : We arrived half an hour late in Hamburg.
I absolutely enjoyed the first #DSBTalgo ride and I'm looking forwards to traveling onboard again 🎉 !
I love the interior 🥰🥰🥰. #DSBTalgo

#Talgo EC in coming 🎉🎉🎉 !
Traveling by night train is a unique experience. How much so ever you are used to long-distance sleeper journeys, each and every morning leaving a night train in the early morning feels magic.
You wake up, half of your train still sleeping. Pale light from the reading lights in the other compartments. Nothing but the gentle noise from the wheel sets on the tracks and switches. You leave the train, see sleepy faces, families lifting their luggage from the old voyage wagons. Train attendants assisting, some business managers with trolley suitcases. Everyone silently walking towards the main hall of a dark station, all share in common they arrived from a night train from abroad for different purposes.
It's a magic experience. This is the true kind of travels I love.
Good morning Scandinavia !

Fediverse rail nerds, I need your help
When Gorizia 🇮🇹 - Nova Gorica 🇸🇮 #CrossBorderRail re-opened this year for Capital of Culture, it had such a bad timetable I feared for its future
People I know who managed to take it talked of empty trains
But I *still* don't know if it will survive beyond December
Does anyone know?
@samuele963 @nico_niko @vorortanleiter any news?
Today has been a super day exploring, even if the #CrossBorderRail prospects were rather thin. But it is still important to check everything.
Here’s today‘s #CrossBorderRail summary video https://peertube.netzbegruenung.de/w/t9G96qsjCJLmxgZaTtvfP2
Found something! The bridge still stands! #CrossBorderRail

#CrossBorderRail Former narrow gauge - Graniceri 🇷🇴 - Dénesmajor 🇭🇺 was meant to run here. No sign except a line of trees (pic 1) and a possible railway building (pic 2)
I‘m so grateful for this #CrossBorderRail project bringing me to some very forgotten corners of Europe!
