THE NEW YORKER
To put them in perspective, I think of
being on an airplane. The flight
attendant comes down the aisle with her
food cart and, eventually, parks it beside
my seat. “Can I interest you in the
chicken?” she asks. “Or would you prefer
the platter of shit with bits of broken
glass in it?”

To be undecided in this electionis to
pause for a moment and then ask how
the chicken is cooked.

Local elections matter. Here's NBC Philadelphia's story about the newly elected sheriff of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Democrat Danny Ceisler, who has terminated the partnership between his office and ICE. The deal allowed deputies to enforce immigration authority and share information with ICE, and was signed by his predecessor, Republican Fred Harran, a few months before. Ceisler anchored his November campaign around his argument against the ICE partnership and won the election by around 11 percentage points.

Dominion Voting Systems, which was baselessly attacked by President Trump and his allies after the Republican party lost the 2020 election, has been sold. @npr reports that the business was purchased by Liberty Vote, a new company owned by a one-time Republican elections director, for an undisclosed sum.

Tomorrow will be another big day for local elections in the U.S., including the mayoral primaries for Rochester, Syracuse, Buffalo and a little town called NYC. Plus, a legislative special election in New Hampshire, and the possible comeback of Anthony Weiner. @taniel breaks down all the races so far and to come in June for @bolts
