So often used to be told that "people make pictures" and how true is that remark.
One man and his doggy friend, early doors, on Roker Pier, Sunderland in NE England doing a spot of 'dawn watching'.
I would have been happy had I had the pier to myself but my two subjects helped add another dimension to the composition (especially the dog!).
Mesmerising colour contrasts with the sun just a few degrees below the horizon.

Sunrise on Ocean Beach in San Francisco. The sun rises behind us and as it rises over the sand dunes and buildings, that shadow demarkation line continues to approach us. It really is an amazing time of day.

Looking down on a sandy beach that has amazing patterns. Closest to us, the patterns are almost like flower petals. The top of the image has wet that is reflecting light as gold. The rest of the white sand looks orangey pink with blue shadows to show the pattern. In the lower third of the image, there is a clear line of shadow. Orangey petals are flowing into brown wet sand. Sorry for the clumsy description. It's a really beautiful pattern of shadows, wet sand, and early morning light.
