Critical Mass is celebrating 30yrs in Melbourne tomorrow.
Join us at the State Library at 5:30 on Friday 28th November.
"The biggest rides of the year are always held each November to celebrate the birthday of the first ride in Melbourne. These rides are typically five to ten times larger than a normal Critical Mass in Melbourne. "
You can read about some of the history of Critical Mass Melbourne on Wikipedia. We don't try to ride on CityLink or the Burnley Tunnel these days. It's much more of a slow and relaxed ride through some inner city streets. A rolling party to celebrate and advocate for better bicycle infrastructure.

On the way home, an Uber pulled over into the separated bike line in front of Crown, and cut me off. I ran into the back of them.
Then when I was close to home, a garbage truck on a side street, started pulling out in front of me. It's very wet, and I wasn't in a position to slam on the brakes. I broke what i could, and moved as far right as possible, so he could see me easier and yelled louder and louder until he finally stopped. He then mouthed "Fuck you".
I had bright lights on, was wearing a fluorescent shirt with reflective strips, on a fluorescent and luminescent bike. It's almost like wearing hi-vis doesn't magical make people who don't look, see you. #CriticalMass
