It's time to make some changes in the garden. Some of the veggies are done for the season. I will continue to plant lettuce and spinach until it gets too cold.
Summer knows what we need to get the job done.
I expected her to bring my gloves, because I asked for them, but she surprised me with a partial bag of soil.
She was absolutely right that I needed that bag.
I don't know how she learned to be so helpful, but she seems to remember how we garden from one time to the next.
Her memory might be better than mine at this point.

Uh oh!
Summer sees deer in the neighbor's yard.
She can't do anything but give her fiercest look.
The deer pay attention and will do their best to stay on the other side of the fence.
As soon as they run off to eat another neighbor's garden she was her happy self again and back to playing with her toy cow.
I had no idea Labrador retrievers were so territorial.
