A hummingbird sits on a dripping wet feeder with a blur of green garden as a background. The hummingbird has tilted its long bill up and to the left while flaring a brilliant fuchsia-colored iridescent gorget. This is the Long-billed Starthroat, a large and widespread hummingbird, but for some reason I haven't been able to get a good shot of the bird off the feeder-- and this bird was NOT leaving this spot on the feeder, because an aggressive male White-vented Plumeleteer was hovering in the wings waiting to take over.
