This is a portrait format photo of an autumn scene taken on a hiking trail that runs through a forest. A mature tree is on both sides of the hiking trail at this point, each with many colourful leaves still intact. The colours are yellow and orange which create a real Fall vibe for the photo. The hiking trail is covered with fallen leaves which also adds to the colour pallet. It is a bright sunny day, so some shadows can also be seen in the frame.

These two Nectarines were grown here on Skye. They were a gift from our next door neighbours who grew them in their Polytunnel.

A polytunnel is a tunnel typically made from steel and covered in polyethylene, usually semi-circular in shape. The interior heats up because incoming solar radiation from the sun warms plants, soil, and other things inside the building faster than heat can escape the structure.

I thought I’d celebrate the gesture with a photograph…
