Well, I just returned from a VERY interesting #Indivisible #SantaFe (ISF) meeting. Santa Fe’s new mayor was summoned to the meeting by a #NewMexico state legislator in attendance. This led to me having to supply the meeting with an impromptu presentation on First Amendment law and why the City of Santa Fe cannot lawfully charge ISF $25,000+ for a closed streets permit for #NoKings on March 28. 1/

I’ll let you know if the City of #SantaFe course corrects and plans street closures for NK3. In the meantime, some information about #NoKings 3.0 in #SantaFe #NewMexico on March 28. I’ve been beyond busy, speaking at a conference on suing gun makers/sellers for causing gun violence, speaking to #Albuquerque Indivisible about how to work with the NM AG for progressive action, coordinating distribution of flyers in #SantaFe re tricks ICE uses and what to do if ICE stops your car. Also looking into counter programming against local appearance by Amy Coney Barrett. 1/

#indivisible #SantaFe has finalized the PDFs of flyers with guidance for what to do if ICE/CBP stops your car and how to deal with “ruses” used by ICE. A couple of folks have asked me to email them the pdf files. If you dm me an email address, will share.

My colleague is so touched that I shared this with folks here. We really are going flat out to deal with stepped up ICE/CBP activity here in #SantaFe. Our area is over 50% Hispanic, with a considerable immigrant population.

My local Indivisible group, #IndivisibleSantaFe, has a member who has fronted $1000 for whistle kits for ICE Watch. I would like to help reimburse him. I know there are plenty of other big causes, but if you can toss us a few bucks, we’d be grateful. ICE is snatching our neighbors.
