#NOAA affirmatively stating there *IS* a #tsunami wave that was generated from that 8.7 #eathquake off Russia.

Its estimated arrival in #Hawaii at 7:17 PM, Hawaiian time. No statement on wave height, but Japan's meteorological office has put out a warning of 3 meters all along the eastern shores of #Japan, starting at 10:00 JST, which was 4 minutes ago.

The US NWS is soliciting comments on the possible use / trial of Bluesky. I plan to encourage them to also look at the fediverse and, at a minimum, use Bridgy Fed to bridge to Mastodon (hat tip to NWS Boston, which is already doing this). #NWS#NOAA#SKYWARN#USWx#MAWx

We're losing #OpenAccess to #weather #data on the #NOAA web site. But #HamRadio operators can still access it directly from the #satellites. They can even decrypt most of it with a new #OpenSource decoder. Here's how.
