It really needs to be understood that there's #medical & #scientific consensus on this, as well as #trans people's own knowledge & experience on the subject, which is just as if not more important, as we are the sole stakeholders in our own #healthcare.

Last night, at 2:30 a.m. CET, a new European #weather #satellite was launched in French Guiana. The new #MetOp-SG A1 satellite will map the entire world every day. This should provide a wide range of important information that is essential for weather forecasts, storm warnings and #climate research. The new satellite will also make #Europe less dependent on the #US for #scientific #research.

Open science forms the pillar for mankind to invent a better world, and a society worth living in. Or so it should be, if academia weren’t held captive or willing prisoner to commercial interests. Fediverse opens new grazing grounds for #scientists, #engineers, or anyone for that matter, to uncover new #wisdom and #insights collectively.

If only more #OpenScience tools would add #ActivityPub support to join our #fediverse.

But we have @bonfire Open Science app, and @scifed as early adopters.

The threat to #academics' livelihoods at universities including #Yale, #Columbia & #JohnsHopkins has given #Europe's political leaders hope they could reap an #intellectual windfall.

A letter, reviewed by Reuters, signed in March by 13 European countries including #France, #Germany & #Spain, urged the #EU Commission to move fast to attract #academic talent.

The European Research Council, an #EU body that finances #scientific work, told Reuters it would double the relocation budget for funding #researchers moving to the EU to €2 million ($2.16 million) per applicant. That goes towards covering the cost of moving to a European institution, which may involve setting up a laboratory.
