I was just looking at the #stats from my @Castopod for the #podcast #audio version of #firesideFedi. I'm blown away at the diversity of folks. I see folks from #Nigera , #Brazil , #SouthAfrica , #Malaysia , #HongKong , #SouthKorea ! And of course #US , #Canada , #EU .

As an American that's never traveled, I can't wait to learn all about everyone, their cultures, their experiences, etc. I'm humbled as well. I'll be honest, if you asked me to point out on a map where these countries were, I probably couldn't. And I feel like I have to do better there. The internet allows all of us to connect and we need to learn as much about each other as we can so we can all learn.

Anyone know a good R 📦 library for taking a dialogue.wav and doing some quick and dirty super rough turn taking stats? Like number of turns, duration for each interlocutor, pauses and stuff like that? Something that's quick for just getting a glance.👁️

A study shows that Starlink is just too messy and congested to take seriously, but don't tell governments (such as the US) as they're sadly embracing a whole lot of them by giving away more subsidies (BEAD funds).
