Curious to know how "social media" is being defined here. People are clearly being negatively impacted by *something*. But it is being online, having a pocket PC, or using apps? Or is it being manipulated by algorithms, and force fed ads that engage by being irritating?

I think the fact the Forkiverse might be ephemeral is actually a positive thing, part of the experience of the amateur days of the early Internet. You have to enjoy it while it lasts. Just promise us you will not sell it to Elon 😂 #hardfork

I know he teased a third podcast joining the #forkiverse in the latest #hardfork podcast but I couldn't believe it when he told me that @sruthi had volunteered to do a daily #forkiLifePodcast. He was a bit cagey on the timeline but reading between the lines I'd say we'll hear something about it next week. #breakingnews #scoop

Fresh off CES and given the #forkiverse is full of technophiles I figured my first post should be this AI toilet that can autodetect how hard to flush. Truly one of the most remarkable examples of innovation for innovation's sake. A more “solid” use case would have been if the AI analyzed stool samples for health diagnoses but alas here we are...

@the_etrain "Hardfork" is a podcast centered around tech and mostly reports on AI. They started a Mastodon instance as a project to see if "the promise of the Fediverse" was real or not?
It started as a small instance only allowing 2000 new registrations. I'm not sure if they raised that or not yet?
