🆕 blog! “How long does it take to upgrade an eBook?”

The older I get, the more comfortable I become with complaining. Not merely moaning on social media, but writing a direct email to the perpetrator of some annoyance.

I'd purchased an eBook and was appalled by how crappy the accessibility was. If you don't know, modern ePub books are just HTML…

Anyone tried one of the Waveshare 7.5inch E-Paper HAT Display units?

I'm planning to DIY an eBook reader with the kids - think 3D printed case, eink display, RPi running Linux & booting straight into an open source reader.

Not sure what these displays are like to use though, & given their low price I'm suspicious.

HOW GREEN ARE YOUR EYES JOHN HARTLEY The follow-up to the acclaimed debut novel 'The Broken Bottle' by John Hartley. Follow the adventures of Wilf Hughes as he sets sail to Eire in search of, well, something that isn't just moping around at home. The five were squeezed into the bright yellow Renault heading eastwards. The roads were quiet and Wilf, sandwiched between his cousins in the back, had a good view of the countryside his dad had talked so fondly of. The car rattled onwards before, on the cusp of a sharp bend, Edward slammed on the brakes causing Wilf to lurch forward between the two front seats. At the age of 18 Wilf Hughes has survived childhood, studying for A-levels, and being shot at when all he wanted to do was play songs in a band. Now he is heading across the sea for his first adventures as an adult. In the company of his cousins Eileen and Mary Rose, Wilf discovers the beauty of the Irish countryside, whilst embroiled in the neighbours' family drama. In the process he chances upon the enigmatic Orla, and a darker side to 1990s Ireland. Has Wilf seen too much for his own good again?
